What led you to this career?
Fate perhaps? I was looking to get out of the motor trade when an opportunity arose at the then, Veritec Sonomatic, as a Logistics & Finance Assistant, the company had just 2 of us in Aberdeen at the time! After various changes and additions to my role over the first 14 years, I took a 2-year hiatus and have been back for around a year in my new role.
What does your job role involve?
I have been involved in a few of the recent R&D Projects which have been really interesting. Being part of the BD team, I maintain and build new relationships with clients and look for new integrity and inspection opportunities for the company.
Can you give an insight into your working day at Sonomatic?
Since being back at Sonomatic, like many others, I have been working from home which I have quite enjoyed. My days can vary but generally, I attend internal & external project meetings and liaise with clients and company associates. I work closely with our Marketing Coordinator on various marketing materials and ideas.
What is the best thing about being part of the Sonomatic Team?
Our team quite often have a ‘coffee chat’ Teams call and it’s a chance to have a catch up about life in general! It’s been a tough time for many so it’s a good platform to socialise and have a laugh.
What accomplishment have you made at Sonomatic that you are proud of?
Being part of Sonomatic since 2003 I am immensely proud of how the company has grown. From a small business to being part of the ever-growing CWL Group. There has been so many projects that I have been involved in, it’s impossible to pinpoint one in particular.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
My main hobby now is Mountain Biking and love to go on adventures with my partner and my 3 stepchildren.
