What led you to this career?
Early on in my Mechanical Engineering studies, I realised I enjoyed the design process and the ability to see the creation and use of something you designed, so I quickly steered my career into Mechanical Design.
What does your job role involve?
I am part of a team that designs bespoke tools and machinery used to perform ultrasonic inspections and other tasks as required. We typically look at specific client requirements and jointly work on creating a solution.
Can you give an insight into your working day at Sonomatic?
I spend most of my time using design software to create 3D models and manufacturing drawings for the tools we build, but we have regular team meetings and reviews as projects progress.
What is the best thing about being part of the Sonomatic Team?
All the friends I’ve made over the years.
What accomplishment have you made at Sonomatic that you are proud of?
I’ve got a few tools, especially the subsea ones, that I am proud of when I see them working well and we receive positive feedback from the client.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I enjoy spending as much time outside as I can, which includes a BBQ every now and then…
