Sonomatic was approached to conduct an extensive HTHA survey on a clients Ammonia plant. The scope of work required the inspection of 175 inspection “windows” covering nine pressure vessels and five piping systems.

Process
Preparation was carried out from at least 4 months ahead with tricky overseas mobilisations for both personnel and equipment.
The team were on site for a period of 12 days. The inspection team consisted of eight members including two full time analysts completing the data dual reviews within a 24-hour period. Three externally trained and certified HTHA specialist were on site. Additional support was available from around the world as and when needed.
Outcome
The work was completed ahead of schedule and interim reports were issued for all components within hours of completing the last scans.
