Sonomatic performed a review of 190 pressure vessels across various assets for a major North Sea operator. The review involved NII screening on 88 vessels and full NII planning on the remaining 102.

Process
Sonomatic implemented an efficient process, automating, where appropriate, aspects of the NII process, and delivered all reports ahead of schedule. The screening element considered whether NII was theoretically possible on the 88 vessels, with NII shown to be possible on 52. Some of these were subsequently progressed to full assessment. The planning aspect of the project involved a full NII assessment on all 102 vessels with work scopes provided, where NII was applicable, to justify an alternative to internal visual inspection (IVI).
Outcome
Overall, this was a very valuable process which was hugely appreciated by the client. The results of the project allowed cost savings in reduced shutdown times on all assets, which in turn led to significant gains through increased production.
