What led you to this career?
I grew up in an Oil & Gas working family, “helped out” at many companies where my mum worked after school whilst waiting for a lift home to Alford, which progressed to one of the companies giving me a paid after school job. I then applied for a summer job at Shell which I started the day after I left school and it went from there. I initially intended to work the 6-month contract at Shell and then apply for Art School but I just stayed in the industry working my way up through various disciplines, from Technical Assistant, through Cost & Planning to Inspection/Integrity Engineer.
What does your job role involve?
I currently Project Manage 2 contracts we hold with OGTC and Chrysaor.
Can you give an insight into your working day at Sonomatic?
My day to day job really varies. Alongside Project Managing, I can be assisting clients with RBA’s, Workpacks, Leak Test Packages and month-end is busy with Reporting & Finance.
What is the best thing about being part of the Sonomatic Team?
The best thing about being part of the Sonomatic Team is being in it! I work with the most fantastic group of people. If you need anything, it’s not one but everyone that is there with offers to help – whether it’s work or personal.
What accomplishment have you made at Sonomatic that you are proud of?
I like being able to help everyone out, even if it’s something I have little knowledge of, I will give it a go and learn something new. I’m proud to be part of the Team.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
Outside of work, I’m really busy and always on the go. My family comes first and I do a lot with my husband, son & dog. I volunteer for charity – currently, a committee member of FOTNU (Friends of the Neonatal Unit) part of the Archie Foundation and I try to go out running/walking every day either with my friends or my running group ‘Fit Like Joggers’. Super keen on DIY around the house & garden, which drives my husband nuts as I’m a perfectionist and nothing he does is ever right apparently.
