Sonomatic is proud to have been awarded the Walking Scotland Walk at Work Award, recognising our commitment to improving employee wellbeing and creating a more active workplace.
The award highlights organisations that actively encourage their employees to move more throughout the working day, supporting both physical and mental health while contributing to a more sustainable way of working.
At Sonomatic, this has been achieved through a range of initiatives designed to embed a culture of movement across our teams. These include the introduction of a Sustainable Commuting Policy in 2026, which promotes active and low-impact travel options, alongside practical support such as changing and shower facilities.
We have also established dedicated Walking Champion roles to encourage participation and engagement across the business. These champions play an active part in promoting walking initiatives, sharing ideas, and creating opportunities for colleagues to get involved in both structured and informal activities.
Across our sites, employees have embraced a range of initiatives — from lunchtime walks and active travel to informal team activities supported through internal communications and digital platforms. This has helped build a strong culture of wellbeing, with many colleagues also choosing to carry these habits beyond the workplace, further reinforcing the positive impact of the programme.
Building on this momentum, Sonomatic has also entered a team of 12 employees into the Banchory Beast Race taking place on 12 September 2026. The 10km obstacle course event provides an additional goal for participants, encouraging continued activity and engagement throughout the summer, while also promoting teamwork and shared achievement.
These efforts are supported by workplace facilities and ongoing communications that promote the benefits of staying active, including reduced stress, improved productivity, and stronger team connection.
The Walk at Work Award recognises not only the initiatives themselves, but the culture behind them — one that prioritises employee wellbeing, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
Sonomatic remains committed to building on this momentum, continuing to develop initiatives that support our people and create a healthier, more active working environment.
